Day 1: Saturday, October 27

• Spirit Sprint, 9:00am registration, 9:30am, Kansas Union, $15 students, $20 non-students.
• Stuff the Bus, the Dillons on 23rd and 9th & Mass St, 1pm – 4pm

Spirit Sprint 5K Run/Walk:

The race will begin at the Kansas Union and will wind its way through our beautiful campus. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Douglas County United Way. All participants will receive a t-shirt and beverages will be provided. Participants can register before the day of the race by visiting the Homecoming website (www.homecoming.ku.edu) or on the day of the race, Saturday, October 27th, starting at 8:30am at the Kansas Union. Entries will be accepted through the start of the race, however t-shirt availability will not be secured. The race will begin at 9:30 am. The cost for entry is $15 for KU students and $20 for non-students.

Stuff the Bus:

The Homecoming Steering Committee will be using several KU on Wheels buses to collect non-perishable food items which will be donated to a local food pantry. The buses will be located in several locations through out Homecoming week. On Saturday, October 27th, 2007 the bus will be located in front of Dillons on 23rd Street and 9th and Massachusetts Street on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 there will be a bus stationed in front Daisy Hill and Oliver Residence Hall. Cans collected will be compared to the number of members of each student life or Greek group. Points will be awarded using a percentage of participation scale.
